TempVent™

TempVent™ allows pressure to equalize inside packages as the product cools following the filling process, eliminating distortion or paneling of the package. This temporary venting is stopped following the heat-induction sealing process to preserve product purity and extend shelf-life. The technology also allows the use of lighter-weight, thinner-walled containers. TempVent™ provides packaging engineers and designers more flexabillity to develop less complex, and less costly bottle designs.

About

TempVent™ allows pressure to equalize inside packages as the product cools following the hot- or warm-filling process without distorting or paneling the package. Our TempVent™ technology resolves container distortion by temporarily allowing sterile air to enter the package to prevent unwanted paneling as the product cools, then permanently closes the vent to provide an airtight seal and extended shelf-life. TempVent™ allows use of common, thin-walled containers, and less complex bottle designs.

Benefits of Venting

Selig’s wide range of Container Venting solutions provide brand owners with unique and cost-effective ways to solve challenging container distortion issues. Incorporating non-leaking breathability into packaging can provide improvements throughout a business’s entire value chain. Furthermore, venting can remove the limitations that have historically prevented formulators from using the most effective ingredients at optimal or increased concentrations. It allows for increased package design flexibility and cost reductions in the package design phase, as well as during the filling process. Venting also eliminates issues commonly experienced with shipping and warehousing. All of this while simultaneously allowing companies to reduce costs, improve the consumer experience, and achieve important sustainability goals and objectives.

All of our venting solutions are engineered for the specific packaging and use case(s). The more we know about your problem, the more we can help.
